First Lady Erdoğan meets with representatives of associations and foundations

First Lady Emine Erdoğan met with the representatives of the associations and foundations, of which she is the honorary president, at Bozdağ Film Plateaus in Istanbul.

Making a speech at the meeting, First Lady Erdoğan stated that today the traditional understanding of benevolence has perished in Western communities, and said: “The incidents that have taken place in Gaza in the past two years have once again shown us that the compassion of the Western world is ideological and discriminatory. Otherwise, the most tragic genocide of the history of humanity, which is being carried out live, would not be watched like a movie. If over 20 thousand killed children had had blonde hair and blue eyes, they would not be ignored. The world would be shaken to its core for those children, who under harsh winter conditions stand barefoot in flood-hit tents made of rags, and who shake like a leaf and die due to cold. Instead, the world remains silent despite all the oppression. At this point I think that our exemplary NGO practices should be brought into the forefront at international level.”
