President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a press conference following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
“As the world is going through a turbulent period, Türkiye is being led by qualified cadres, and is in safe and capable hands. As the People’s Alliance, we are working in complete harmony and coordination in the legislation. In the executive, we are developing solutions to the country’s problems in collaboration with the cabinet members and our bureaucrats. Our judiciary is endeavoring for the manifestation of justice within the boundaries set by the constitution. All state bodies are adequately discharging their duties within their remit. We are determined to further consolidate these gains, which are indeed the primary outcomes of the Presidential System of Government,” President Erdoğan stated.
“AFTER TWO YEARS OF GENOCIDE, A CLIMATE OF CONFIDENCE, EVEN IF FRAGILE, HAS NOW EMERGED IN GAZA”
President Erdoğan said: “We welcome the ceasefire agreement in Gaza that was facilitated by the diplomacy we had exercised for some time via various channels. After two years of oppression, savagery and genocide, a climate of confidence, even if fragile, has now emerged in Gaza, praise be to Allah. You also watch on your televisions. For the first time in two years of struggling to survive under bombs, the children’s faces lit up with smiles. Our brothers and sisters in Gaza are flooding back to the places from which they were forcibly displaced. Amid the ruins, people are trying to rebuild their lives, holding on to whatever belongings they can find.”
“What has been experienced in Gaza is known best by the oppressed people of Gaza themselves. What sufferings have been endured for two years is known best by the innocent children. The agony of laying 68 thousand martyrs to rest is known by heartbroken mothers and fathers. It is these brothers and sisters of ours, who lost their everything, that know best the value of a piece of belonging pulled out of from the rubble. Let me reiterate: We can only empathize. We can only try to understand them. Any effort to ease the burden of the oppressed people in Gaza is valuable to us. It is neither the right nor the place of anyone to attempt to belittle this by saying, ‘they only signed a ceasefire.’ This must be made clear.”
“WITH THE SHARM EL-SHEIKH DECLARATION, WE TOOK A VALUABLE STEP TOWARDS LASTING PEACE AND STABILITY IN OUR REGION”
“Just like anyone else, we are also well aware of Israel’s poor track record of not honoring the promises it makes. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and our Gazan brothers and sisters are more aware of this fact. But still they are hopeful, they want to be hopeful. We, for our part, are applying all the existing tools of pressure to prevent a return to the old genocide days,” President Erdoğan stressed. “The summit held the day before yesterday in Egypt was of critical importance in this regard. As both the leaders of the four signatory countries and other participating leaders, we displayed a very clear stance there. With the Sharm el-Sheikh declaration, we took a valuable step towards lasting peace and stability in our region. We will stand, to the end, behind the will demonstrated in the declaration. I believe that the U.S., Egypt and Qatar will also display a similar attitude. We will also closely monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.”
“A new phase started with the exchange of hostages and prisoners. The entry of humanitarian aid supplies has accelerated. Despite all setbacks, nearly 350 of our trucks have entered Gaza, and more than 400 additional trucks await entry. We dispatched our 17th ‘Goodness’ vessel to the region yesterday, carrying 900 tons of aid. More will follow. Inshallah, we will intensify our humanitarian aid before winter sets in. We will continue to stand by Gaza and its oppressed people without making it a show or seeking publicity, unlike others. This struggle will not slow down until an independent State of Palestine is established based on the 1967 borders.”
