First Lady Erdoğan attends Foster Family Day event

First Lady Emine Erdoğan attended the Foster Family Day event held by the Ministry of Family and Social Services at the Nation’s Library in Ankara.

Speaking at the event, First Lady Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of a strong childhood, and said: “If we offer a happy childhood to a child, we in fact fill a treasure chest. That is so because the most beautiful mansion of the world is a family home, the most beautiful song lullabies, the most delicious taste the tables sit together with families, and the biggest happiness resting your head on your mother’s and father’s knee. There is no greater richness in the world than this.”

Stating that researches show that early childhood period is the determiner of the entire life, First Lady Erdoğan stressed that the experiences gained during this period have lasting effects on individual’s cognitive, emotional and social developments, and added: “So, our adult fabric is woven with childhood thread. The fabric will be strong to the extent as to how strong the knots of affection, confidence, care and education are. Therefore every child raised in a climate of calm and security is the foundation stone of a strong society.”
