“Sinjar is the same as Qandil to us, we might enter there one night all of a sudden”

Addressing AK Party's provincial heads in Ankara, President Erdoğan said: “Neutralizing every terrorist we identify is a part of our responsibility to our nation. We are determined to remove the separatist terrorist organization from the places it is nested in inside Iraq and to put a complete end to its activities. The Iraqi government has pledged us to do this job by itself in various regions, first and foremost in Sinjar. We expect this pledge to be honored. Sinjar is the same as Qandil to us, we might enter there one night all of a sudden.”

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Extended Meeting of Provincial Heads of the Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara.

Referring to Turkish economy’s 7.4% growth rate in 2017, President Erdoğan pointed out that with that growth rate, Turkey ranks first among G20 nations, which account for 85 percent of the global economy and that it ranks second to Ireland which has 7.8% growth rate among OECD and European Union countries.

Noting that foreign investors are increasingly getting interested in Turkey and that Turkish entrepreneurs have started to have a global say, President Erdoğan stated that the export figure broke all-time record by exceeding $159 billion by the end of February.

OPERATION OLIVE BRANCH

Mentioning that the number of terrorists neutralized during Operation Olive Branch has reached 3 800, President Erdoğan said that the operation continues in order to take other areas around under control, notably Tal Rifaat, and added that Turkey also continues to contribute to the activities to turn Idlib into a safe place and that seven out of 12 observation posts are under Turkey’s control.

Reminding the promises made by the US to Turkey to remove YPG terrorist organization from Manbij, President Erdoğan said: “In spite of everything we expect those promises to be immediately kept even if it is late.” Stating that they have started preparations for clearing the areas such as Ayn al-Arab, Tell Abyad, Ras al-Ayn and Al-Hasakah of terror, President Erdoğan noted: “These places are each a threat risk to us. Therefore we cannot tolerate these risks along our borders.”

“WE MIGHT ENTER SINJAR ONE NIGHT ALL OF A SUDDEN”

President Erdoğan said, “Neutralizing every terrorist we identify is a part of our responsibility to our nation,” and continued as follows: “We are determined to remove the separatist terrorist organization from the places it has nested in inside Iraq and to put a complete end to its activities. The Iraqi government has pledged us to do this job by itself in various regions, first and foremost in Sinjar. We expect this pledge to be honored. Sinjar is the same as Qandil to us, we might enter there one night all of a sudden.”

Mentioning that the Iraqi government has vowed to clear Sinjar of the separatist terrorist organization, President Erdoğan stated: “Putting an end to the terrorists organization’s activities in Iraqi soil is the joint concern of us and the government of Baghdad. If they are willing, we are ready to work with them on this issue.”

“I BELIEVE WE HAVE SHOWN OUR DETERMINATION CONCERNING OUR SOUTHERN BORDERS TO THE ENTIRE WORLD”

President Erdoğan continued as follows: “I believe we have shown our determination concerning our southern borders to the entire world. From now on criticizing Turkey for this issue will make no sense. Our doors are definitely closed to all approaches which don’t consider PKK and PYD to be the same and which don’t equate the fight against YPG with the fight against DAESH. It is their choice for those who want to join the game in Syria or in Iraq or in any place that the terrorist organization is playing by changing its name. Either this or that, it is all the same for us, we know they all are the offspring of the same snake. We show with documents, video footages and photo shoots to anyone who asks for but they do not believe; if you do not believe, then keep going. We can do our job on our own. We aren’t engaged in giving names to terrorists, but wiping them out.”

“FRANCE NO LONGER HAS ANY RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ANY ACT OF TERROR”

Referring to French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments that he made yesterday, President Erdoğan said that they are disappointed with this approach of France, which they think is completely wrong and hope stems from misunderstandings.

President Erdoğan stressed: “Those who once again yesterday welcomed at highest level the terrorist organization’s members who have long operated freely in their country should know that it means nothing but an act of animosity towards Turkey.”

Referring to French President Macron’s remarks that suggest France can mediate between Turkey and the SDF, President Erdoğan noted: “Who gave you such a mission? Don’t get in over your head. We don’t need any intermediator. Since when does Turkey seek to come together with terrorists around the same table? How on earth can you come up with such an idea? You can come together with terrorist organizations around the same table but Turkey deals with terrorist organizations just like it did in Afrin. You can keep going like this. Yet, who are you to even utter the word of ‘mediation’ between Turkey and a terrorist organization? Those who have yet to give the account of their dirty and bloody past can picture themselves next to terrorist organizations. However, such a situation is out of the question for Turkey.”

President Erdoğan continued as follows: “France no longer has any right to complain about any terrorist organization, any terrorist, or any act of terror. Those who get into bed with terrorists and even welcome them at their palaces will sooner or later realize their mistakes. Those who support these terrorists in such a blatant way should be prepared to give account to French public. They can in no time experience the troubles that we are currently experiencing.”

“WE HOPE THEY DON’T ASK US FOR HELP”

Stating that those who for years consciously directed the murderers in their own countries to the lines of DAESH in order to get rid of them are now brooding what to do with those professional terrorists who have returned to their homes, President Erdoğan noted: “The situation that they will experience with regard to the PYD which they are nowadays passionately supporting will not be any different. We hope they don’t attempt to ask us for help when the terrorists who survive and flee Syria and Iraq swarms in there with the courage they take from this policy of France.”

Mentioning that what should be done is to plan together with Turkey what kind of a future can be built in Syria and northern Iraq and put it into practice, President Erdoğan underlined that they are ready to meet, talk and prepare joint action plans with anyone who is willing to work with Turkey on this issue. Pointing out that France officially showed how much it opposes terrorism by hosting seven terrorists at Elysée Palace, President Erdoğan added that from now on only those who seek to build a bright future for the Syrians should ask for Turkey’s cooperation. President Erdoğan concluded as follows: “Otherwise, through our operations, we have already shown, and will continue to show, our stance on clearing the Syrian soil of terrorists and turning it into a safe place where the Syrians will live in peace.”
