I would wholeheartedly like to celebrate the Easter Festival of our Christian citizens and the whole of the Christian World. This year, we will observe our citizens from all denominations of Christianity come together with and embrace their families, neighbors and friends as have we witnessed for centuries on the occasion of the Easter Festival, among the most significant religious festivals of Christianity.
Following the Lent, which is the symbol of family values, robust solidarity and personal sagacity, the celebrations for the Easter Festival, during which our Christian citizens will feel joy and happiness, serve as an opportunity to convey messages of peace to all humanity as well.
I wholeheartedly share this joy and excitement with our Christian citizens, an integrated part of our august nation. Festivals during which mutual love, tribute, tolerance and fraternity are purely felt in the best way consolidate the feeling of union and solidarity of us all, thus enabling us to look to the future with confidence.
The unique diversities our nations enjoy are our biggest treasure that has established our cultural legacy. This richness we are carrying into the future with pride is one of the basic virtues of the Turkish Republic. Every single citizen of the country is equal no matter what ethnicity, language, religion and political background he is from and they are all the equal owners of the state. This very understanding fostered by the unifying spirit of Anatolia, a cradle of civilizations, is the best demonstration of our people’s will to live together side by side.
In this vein, I once again celebrate the Easter Festival of our citizens from all denominations of Christianity, our foreign guests spending the Easter holiday in our country and the whole of the Christian World and I wish them every joy and happiness.
