
President Abdullah Gül received the Botswanan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Phandu Skelemani, who visited Turkey on the occasion of the First Term Meeting of the Turkish-Botswanan Joint Economic Commission (KEK), and his accompanying delegation at the Çankaya Presidential Palace.
Asking his Botswanan guest to convey his best wishes to President Khama, President Gül reiterated Turkey’s determination to boost her relations with all the African countries including Botswana, which he declared a success story for the African continent.
The President, pointing to the importance of the economic cooperation between the two countries, said the agreements that are to be signed will contribute to the current bilateral relations that Turkey and Bostwana have and declared that Turkey will open an embassy in Gaborone soon.
Offering his thanks to President Gül for his warm hospitality, Minister Skelemani, conveying President Khama’s best wishes to him, accentuated the principled stance Turkey maintaines toward the regional developments and commented the economic develepment Turkey has achieved, averring their wish to improve the existing bilateral relations between the two countries as well.
