President Gül Receives Libyan NTC Chairman

President Gül, receiving the Libyan Chairman of the National Transitional Council, Mahmoud Jibril, and his accompanying delegation at the Çankaya Presidential Palace, reiterated the very amity between the Turkish and Libyan peoples.

“TURKISH NATION BEARS GOOD WISHES FOR THE LIBYANS”

The President further underscored that the Turkish nation bears good wishes for the Libyans, sharing his hope that the transition process Libya is going through does not last too long and that it is shaped as per the demands of the Libyan people. President Gül also warned that the feeling of animosity, separation and revenge will pose a threat to the future of Libya, which he suggested should never be allowed to happen. The President later drew attention to the fourth meeting that is to be held by the Libya Contact Group in Istanbul on July 15.

As for NTC Chairman Jibril, he declared Turkey to represent a good vision and sagacity for Libya and further shared his belief that Turkey will continue to play a significant role in the process the Arab world is going through.
