President Abdullah Gül paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia between February 3 and 6 at the invitation of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Mr. Gül received an official welcoming ceremony from King Abdullah at the Riyadh Air Base on February 3. After the ceremony, Mr Gül had a meeting with some Turkish businessmen before he attended the official dinner hosted by King Abdullah in his honour.
Following the dinner and before having a tête-à-tête meeting, Mr. Gül and King Abdullah chaired their respective delegations during the meetings between their two countries. The two countries signed cooperation agreements in several areas.
On Wednesday, February 4, Mr. Gül addressed the Shura Council. He then visited King Saud University and King Abdulaziz Science and Technology City before he attended the lunch hosted by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On Thursday, February 5, Mr. Gül paid a visit to the Secretariat of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Jeddah, and he returned to Ankara on Friday, February 6.
