President Abdullah Gül paid an official visit to Croatia between June 10 and 12 at the invitation of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
Mr. Gül had a tête-à-tête meeting with Mr. Mesic at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, June 11. The two presidents discussed the developments in their bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues, and reviewed the contributions made by Turkey and Croatia to peace, stability and welfare in southeastern Europe. Following the meeting, Mr. Gül received the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebic and the Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
On the last day of his visit, Mr. Gül travelled to Croatia's historic city of Dubrovnik where he met with the mayor, Dubravka Suica and toured the city before he returned to Turkey.
