President Abdullah Gül watched Turkey’s most prestigious horse race, the Gazi Derby, running for the 84th time at the Veli Efendi Hippodrome in Istanbul.
During the ceremony held after the end of the race, the President presented the cup to Can Şemenoğlu, the owner of the winning horse, Mystical Storm. He also gave plaques to both the trainer, Nusret Dere and the jockey, Selim Kaya.
